A 7T MRI has the ability of creating images with higher contrast, better resolution, and in shorter scan times when compared to a 3T device. Greater image quality enables the study of neuronal function at the submillimeter scale and ultra-high resolution fMRI in both animal models and human subjects. The 7T MRI will be part of the Toronto Western Hospital’s Kermbil Neuroscience Centre, a world leader in neurology, and completes the localized repertoire neuroimaging modalities to enable seamless study of subjects.
