Procurement myths are major barriers to innovation adoption within Ontario’s health care system. A new guide, created by the Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario (CAHO), is designed to help hospitals tackle procurement myths to pull innovation into the system faster, improving patient care and health system efficiency.

The Art of the Possible: A Quick Reference Guide to Ontario Broader Public Sector Procurement Myths offers straightforward explanations and supporting resources to facilitate hospital procurement of new health technologies and innovations.

The Art of the Possible was developed with support from a panel of experts as part of CAHO’s work as an Innovation Broker with the Office of the Chief Health Innovation Strategist. CAHO represents Ontario’s 23 research hospitals that collectively contribute to a healthier, wealthier and smarter Ontario.
