Toronto Region’s Health Sciences ecosystem is gaining momentum. In this talk we will explore what it means to be a successful technology ecosystem and how we can both build it and benefit from it at the same time. We will touch on some of the key players, ecosystem drivers and levers available to us, as we work to improve health and wealth through innovation.

Ella Korets-Smith is Principal at EKS Business Development, an independent consulting firm passionate about creating value for Canadian biotech and medical device companies through building strong relationships. Ella is also Executive Director of TOHealth!, an industry-led marketing cooperative raising the profile of the Toronto Region’s Health Sciences Cluster as a Top 5 global hub for innovation in health. In her 12 years in industry, Ella worked with small and large, public and private life science and medical device companies, holding positions such as Director Business Development and Director Market Development with a track record of closing deals and leading successful marketing and business development and marketing programs. Ella has an extensive network of business leaders in Canada and internationally, extending her reach to customers and partners in key markets such as North America, Europe and Asia. Ella has an MSc in Medical Genetics from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Dalhousie University.
